Head of Environmental and Social Unity | Public Company of Medellin - Colombia
José Enrique Londoño Maya is a Civil Engineer and a specialist in Environmental Management and Development Management from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, Medellín, Colombia.
He has been working for 35 years with the Public Services Company of Medellín (EPM). He is currently responsible for the environmental and social management of EPM’s power generation projects, which are part of the portfolio for expansion and optimization at national level; he is also in charge of the environmental and social management of 25 hydropower plants in operation (total installed capacity: 3276 MW, with an influence in 47 municipalities of Colombia); he also coordinates the environmental management of the generation projects of the international subsidiaries of the EPM.
He has been a member of several environmental committees for the Colombian power sector (CASEC, ACOLGEN) and the Regional Energy Integration Commission (CIER).
In August of this year the EPM group received the “National Award of Caracol Television to the protection of the environment” in the category of large companies, for its integral management of water resources.
